You see them wherever you look, old-school rockabilly hair cuts. Fortunately you don’t have to be a rebellious hipster with a racing bike and long beard anymore, to get yourself a a proper cut.

But we all know how your hair evolves during a night out with a random hair gel. At some point you inevitably  look like a drunk Fido Dido who needed to go home 3 hours ago. The alternative is to use a wax, but next to shiny faces that leaves, grease is not easy to wash out and so takes you at least three proper washes before it’s out.

On that greasy dilemma, a Classic Barber Shop and Shaving Parlor in Costa Mesa, California was inspired to experiment with different kinds of pomade. They chose their favorite feature of each one they worked with in their and so created their our own formula: a pomade that easily washes out with just water! After months of research and experimentation, the result became: Layrite Deluxe Pomade.

The design feels like you’ve just time-warped yourself back into the 40’s, just like the hairstyle it creates. A bit more expensive than your regular supermarket hairgel, but a small finger scoop is sufficient to last the day. I’m converted.
